The organization was founded with the goal of providing support, resources, and programming for the Indigenous people of the area, with a focus on promoting cultural preservation and community development.

My name is Douglas Bartlett. I am originally from The Pas. I am married and I am a father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. I moved home in September 2019 after living and working in Winnipeg for 35 years. I moved home to take the position of Executive Director here at the Centre. This is the best move I could have made as I am doing something meaningful that is helping people.

Tansi, My name is Rhoda Beardy I am from Opaskwayak Cree Nation, and I have been with The Pas Friendship Centre Inc. for five years as the Finance Officer. During my time with TPFC, I watched our Centre flourish administratively, culturally and with the community. We have brought our Centre to the forefront of the covid pandemic helping both elders and families in the community, as well as keeping with our mission of providing positive, social, and cultural services to our urban indigenous community. I strive to be part of the movement of Friendship Centre locally, provincially, and nationally as we are forever evolving in bringing community harmony to our Tri-areas by developing partnerships with all programs available for Indigenous and non-Indigenous alike.

Tansi, My name is Shalene McGillivary from Opaskwayak Cree Nation, I am the Program Coordinator for The Pas Friendship Centre. Three years ago, I started volunteering at The Pas Friendship centre helping with the food hamper distribution during the pandemic and since then I wanted to be involved with more programs and awesome staff. I am excited to learn more about my role here and getting the community more involved with programs at the centre.

Judy Mayer is a Proud Red River Metis Woman mother, grandmother, and great mother. Born in The Pas and raised in the north. She is in her 6th term as Vice President for MMF The Pas Region and is the Minister of Governance, Constitution, Beyond Borders, Metis Rights for the Manitoba Metis Federation Government. Joined The Pas Friendship Center when she was 16 and has been the President for the past 5 years. She believes The Pas Friendship Center is a vital part of its service community and strongly advocates for the center to partner and support at organizations that serve the community.

My name is Lisa Stevenson, I have lived in The Pas Manitoba for the last 32 years, I currently work for the Manitoba Metis Federation as a Metis Community Liaison Department worker, I take a great interest in education, only until this past summer I was able to finish and complete my grade 12 diploma, this was a very important time in my life which opens up opportunities to better my education and training within my work for MMF and as a board member for The Pas Friendship Centre. I take great pride in my work with MMF and enjoy working with seniors and families. I joined The Pas Friendship Centre board to create as a group helpful decisions for our Community Friendship Centre.
